Madeleine is a Belgian artist who now lives in London.

She has been painting and studying art since the age of 15. She studied illustration and psychology in Brussels and worked for 6 years as an artistic facilitator in child psychiatry in Brussels as well as as an illustrator painter. She did Tales of Stories training. In the meantime, the paths have taken her to London since 2015.

Madeleine has always been fascinated by geographical maps: their graphics, their colors, what they tell indirectly, and their ability to take us on a journey.
In her work, Madeleine often incorporates geographical maps that she glues on canvas. The technique she uses is acrylic and different media: pencil, pastel. It also incorporates tissue paper, gesso.

Her strength lies in her expressiveness and her color palette. We travel, we are transported to her colorful universe. Color is essential for her, it gives tone, life and energy to her painting. The shape is not necessarily representative. This abstraction allows her to convey her impressions.
Her line is lively and expressive. Madeleine likes to work with the material, it gives life to her painting, We find the notion of imprints, traces, claws, impressions, stamps, seals. She superimposes layers of paint, writing, glues papers, works with stencils.
Writing has an important place in Madeleine's work. Calligraphy, this almost automatic gesture for her, gives her energy. Her words are intertwined on the canvas. They may or may not be readable. For her, they are “A beginning of history that opens a multitude of doors. A calligraphic dance that animates an idea. Everything is deliberately not disclosed or disclosed. The idea is to superimpose and leave a part of mystery ”.
